INTEL & DELL
"What Lives Inside" Official Trailer
“What Lives Inside” is the fourth installment of the “Inside Films” social film series. The branded entertainment project was a collaboration between Intel and Dell to introduce Dell’s new Venue tablet. The Venue tablet offered an array of tools to unlock a users creativity, which lead us to a story where the son of a world-famous children’s show creator –with the help of the Dell tablet – finds the creativity buried deep inside himself. To make it a “social film” we invited the audience to unlock their own creativity by submitting drawings that would make up the magical world of the film.
In an exclusive deal “What Lives Inside” premiered on Hulu was viewed more than 20 million times and garnered attention from the industry and beyond, including The New York Times, USA Today, Boing Boing, and IndieWire.com.
The film was based on a short story I wrote and was directed by Robert Stomberg (“Maleficent”) and started Colin Hank, academy award winner J.K. Simmons and Catherine O’Hara.
Below is a link to the website where you can see the episodes, some behind the scenes footage and the gallery of over 5,000 user submissions.
Coca-Cola
El SMS
Algo Inesperado
El Rumor
"El SMS" ("The Text") is a story about a teenage boy who accidentally discovers his best friend is gay.
"Algo Ineperado" ("Something Unexpected") is a film about a girl farting in class. Seriously it is.
"El Rumor" ("The Rumor") deals with what happens when a pregnancy rumor ignites a social media firestorm.
Coca-Cola Latin America came to us looking to develop a campaign for teens. In their research was an interesting tid bit, with the advent of social media teens claim to have more friends than ever, but they also report feeling more alone than ever before. Again and again we read how teens said they had thousands of friends but didn’t who they’d turn to when things got tough.
In response we developed a campaign to celebrate “True Friendship” and remind teens that their true friends will always be there when they need them.
The campaign was launched with three short films from Academy Award winner, Dustin Lance Black, and included TV, print, OOH, and a social extension featuring the band One Direction.
(Please note that the films are in Spanish/Portuguese, which makes sense you consider they were for Latin American teens. But the good news is they’re very entertaining and worth the watch if you can read, which I’m assuming you can.)
Pereira O'Dell Entertainment
The Dreams of Emma Bloom
The first unbranded project for Pereira O’Dell. The short was part of a series of film produced in conjunction with New Form Digital, Ron Howard and Brian Grazer’s digital incubator.
I wrote the screenplay and co-directed the short so if it sucks I have no one to blame but myself.

Muscle Milk
We did a bunch of fun stuff for Muscle Milk. Here area few selected highlights:
The Sexy Pilgrim (Music Video)
The further it gets from having produced this, the stranger it seems to me that this actually exists in the world.
Spring Break It Down (Music Video)
There is a crumping manatee in this video. The music was also composed by Mark Foster ("Foster the People").

Lego
Lego "Go Miniman Go" (online film)
To celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the Lego Miniman we created a video of him throughout the years. This was also the first piece of work done by Pereira & O’Dell.
Red Bull
This happened a long time ago, but it’s still fun to talk about. “Unflinching Triumph: The Philip Rockhammer Story” was a feature length film we created for Red Bull. Some context when we launched this, twitter didn’t exist, there was no Branded Content category at Cannes and YouTube was six months old.
Red Bull wanted something that showed how Red Bull improved “focus, concentration and endurance.” Obviously, the only sport that requires all there of those is the fictional sport of competitive staredown.
Besides launching the mocumentary film we also created an entire digital history of the sport complete with a rule book, years of past champions, fan pages (on MySpace…yep it was THAT long ago) and upcoming event schedules.
The film was recognized by The Wall Street Journal and named the “best sports parody” of the year by Sports Illustrated.
The trailer is below. Here is a link to the full feature length film if you so desire.
